Also, hair loss can be more prevalent when the person is under excessive stress, suffers from anorexia nervosa, or dyes his/her hair.

Stomach Gas

Symptoms: Numbness, stomach and abdomen discomfort, the need to expel gas.

Causes: Stomach gas is mainly formed because of air swallowed when eating, by bacteria which cause the putrefaction of foods not digested, or by the chemical reaction produced by some food in the stomach and intestines.

Some of the products which commonly cause of a lot of gas are: refined sugars which, if not assimilated, quickly ferment and produce gas, refined flour, fried dishes, and some vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli and zucchini. These cause gas when they are combined with other foods. Also some grains like beans have this effect.

    • Milk and dairy products cause gas and indigestion in many people who do not produce an enzyme called lactase which is necessary in the absorption of these products. Fruits such as apples produce gas in some people when they are combined with other foods. Often the combination of different types of fruits is what causes gas. Fruit must be eaten alone half an hour before any other food.

    Suggestion: Walking or exercising a little after meals is recommended to aid in digestion. It is also recommended to drink some Green Tea ( with anti-oxidants ) which is excellent product for digestion.

    High Fever

    A fever is the increase of temperature in the body above what is normal; normal temperature varies in each individual from 97 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on the part of the body. When temperature rises it starts to interfere with body functions and can even produce convulsions when it reaches 105.5 degrees F. If it goes even higher it can cause irreversible brain damage.

    A fever is a symptom, which indicates that there is something wrong inside the body and normally occurs along with headaches, nausea, loss of appetite, body aches, general discomfort and occasionally diarrhea and vomiting. The skin remains hot and dry. Depending on how the temperature range varies during a period of several days and how much it differs during the day and during the night, the type of infection can be determined.

    Here are some examples:

    • The temperature range in Malaria alternately rises one day and then returns to normal the next.
    • In Pneumonia it rises very fast and remains high for several days.
    • The temperature range in Rheumatic Fever rises quickly and goes down during two or three days. It remains low during 15 days and rises again to remain high.
    • The temperature range in hepatitis rises slightly from 98.6 F to 100.4 F and it normally goes down when the person’s eyes turn yellow.
    • One most be alert when a high temperature occurs since this indicates that there is something wrong in the body.
    • An infection is the most common reason for this; nevertheless, the most important thing to do is to lower the temperature in the body and never let it rise above 104 degrees F.
    • If the temperature rises above normal, the person must be undressed. If the temperature does not go down, place a damp cloth on the body keeping the person away from any cold draft that may exist.
    • If doing this does not make the temperature go down, the person must be bathed with lukewarm water ( not very cold but not hot either ). This must be repeated several times, checking that the temperature does not rise above 104 degrees F.
    • The person must drink lots of liquid to compensate for their damaged tissues.Drinking beverages containing sodium and potassium is very advantageous.
    • A serum can be prepared as follows: In a quart ( 1 liter ) of water mix 1/2 tablespoon salt and 1/2 tablespoon sugar or honey and give this to the sick person frequently.

    Note: A high temperature is a sign of an infection. If a high temperature persists or rises above 104 degrees F, consult your physician.

    Flu & Cold

    The flu is a disorder caused by a virus. This virus is most frequently found in the respiratory ducts, even though it may also be located in other parts of the body, like the muscle and causing pains and cramps, ( rheumatic fever ).

    It is evidenced by body discomfort and headache, breathing difficulty, fever, weeping eyes, nasal blockage, sneezing, aching body and a desire to lie down and rest.

    The most common cause is contagion, nevertheless, stress weakens the immune system and the person becomes easy pray for the flu virus.

    Suggestion:
    The flu is produced by a virus which is hard to fight. Nevertheless, the body will fight it through the immune system, which is why it is important to keep this system in good condition. One way to stimulate the immune system is to take Echinacea in addition to vitamins A, C, E and Zinc.

    Important: Drink a lot of water.

    Note: The flu is normally found in the upper part of the respiratory tract if congestion goes down to the lungs it may be dangerous. In this case consult physician.
